From 1st November 2019, HUMIDITY SOLUTIONS has announced it will be the exclusive UK distributor for Denmark based Cotes A/S, manufacturers of desiccant dehumidifiers. At a meeting at the Royal Danish Embassy in London, John Barker MD of Humidity Solutions and Peter Lange, export sales manager for Cotes, met with Per Andersen from the Embassy’s Commercial Section to discuss the opportunities this new agreement will offer both companies.

The University of Birmingham has purchased a laboratory-sized Eddy Current Separator and Drum Magnet modular system from Bunting-Redditch. New dew-point transmitter

MICHELL INSTRUMENTS has launched a new fast-responding dew-point transmitter for compressed air quality: the SF82. In compressor rooms temperatures can easily reach 50 °C, while measurements of dew points below -60°C are required. Direct Modbus connection

CONTA-CLIP says its GSM-PRO2 series communication modules feature a Modbus RTU (RS485) interface that enables easy data exchange with other controllers. The modules operate in slave mode and can, for example, provide a PLC with added GSM functionality via an easy plug connection to the RS485 port directly on the C-type mounting rail.

Spherical roller bearings cut installation time

ABB has announced it has launched Dodge Safety Mount spherical roller bearings with a built-in patented locking mechanism that reduces installation time by up to 75% compared to traditional products. ABB says best suited for bulk material and air handling applications, the new bearing mounts by tightening fasteners instead of using a hammer and other tools. The new system also allows for simple installation and removal from the same side of the bearing, which means only one person is needed for the task.

Coiled tubing line

SANDVIK has announced it has opened a state-of-the-art coiled tubing line for premium grades of seamless stainless steel products in smaller dimensions at its Zhenjiang tube mill near Shanghai, China. The commitment to produce longer lengths of weld-free coiled tubing locally will enable customers in the Asia Pacific region to receive deliveries within 28 days, instead of waiting four to six months for longer length reels to arrive from abroad.

Monitoring compressed air usage within industrial applications has become increasingly important as the associated costs continue to rise dramatically. Compressed air systems are often the largest excess user of electricity for a business, with air leaks or poorly performing components contributing to a significant amount of wasted energy.

Hydrostatic level sensor

EGE has announced it has extended its DGC line of hydrostatic level meters, adding a new sensor for measuring liquid media levels up to 20 m. The sensor consists of a measuring head with integrated electronics and an IP68 probe attached to a cable. The cable is up to 20 m long to ensure the probe can be lowered to the bottom of large tanks.

Metering pump shows versatility

WANNER says to call its new Hydra-Cell MT8 a low flow high pressure metering pump would do it a serious injustice. The company says this amazing triplex diaphragm pump can achieve a minimum flow rate of 0.227 litres per hour with the accuracy, linearity and repeatability demanded by API 675, but is capable of generating a maximum flow of 30.28 lph. The Hydra-Cell MT8 is designed to perform at pressures, up to 241 bar, while generating a smooth virtually pulse-less flow for homogeneous metered injection.
