Flexible voltage welding
Published:  12 July, 2010

GYS, the French welding equipment and battery charger manufacturer, has launched GYSMI TIG 207 HF AC/DC, a new flexible voltage welding machine. It can operate on any voltage in the range 85V to 265V and combined with its PFC (Power Factor Correction) the machine is extremely resilient to sub optimal power supplies, either from a generator or long extension leads.

This single phase, 230V machine is rated 200A on 230V or 160A on 110V and incorporates an advanced setting system being specifically designed for professionals welding mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and copper found in general maintenance and repair work both in the workshop and on site, including agriculture, boating and automotive maintenance applications.

Other features include 3 AC/DC modes - standard AC and DC TIG settings, Pulsed TIG mode and Spot TIG mode plus 5 memory settings, adjustable pulse settings whilst an adjustable down slope function automatically releases the torch at the end of the weld.

This machine can also be used for MMA welding and is rated 160A and features adjustable Hot Start, adjustable Arc Force for improved penetration and to avoid electrode sticking as well as an AVC (Antidust Ventilation Corridor) air cooling system that draws clean air through the back of the machine, thereby reducing dust and dirt contamination of the machine's electronic components. It weighs 17kgs and is available with and without accessories.
