Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Exhibition returns
Published:  12 September, 2019

Northern Manufacturing & Electronics 2019 returns to Manchester’s EventCity, from October 2nd to October 3rd. Around 250 firms are expected to participate in the 2019 event, delivering a selection of vendors, from major machinery manufacturers to local subcontract engineering services.

Following the same format of its long-established sibling event, Southern Manufacturing, the Northern show has developed its own profile, very much reflecting the character of manufacturing industry in the North. Aerospace and automotive are two of the biggest areas of activity, which along with their associated supply chains, make the show relevant for both buyers and vendors.

Alongside the hardware and services on show, Northern Manufacturing 2019 also has a range of free technical seminar programme, which runs over both days. Highlights of the 2019 include sessions by award winning author, creator of the Lean Iceberg Model and partner at S.A. Partners, Gary Griffiths. Along with co-authors Professor Peter Hines, Pauline Found and Richard Harrison, Gary’s book “Staying Lean:Thriving, Not Just Surviving” won a Shingo Research and Professional Publication Prize in 2009 for its illustration of the experience of a multi-national company that successfully implemented Lean in its manufacturing and commercial operations. Andy Brunskill, Author of “TPM: A Foundation of Operational Excellence” will share his 11 step Model which can be used to deploy an effective, systematic Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programme. Further sessions include advice on government incentives, mergers and acquisitions, CE marking, 3D print technology and advanced composite materials among others.
