Kanthal Award 2017
Published:  06 December, 2017

Sandvik.jpgA climate protection organisation with a focus on travel, atmosfair, has received a donation of €5,000 from Sunfire after the latter company was appointed winner of the 2017 Kanthal Award.

Sunfire, based in Germany, won the award for developing a process that converts regenerative power, carbon dioxide (CO2) and water into synthetic gas or a crude oil substitute (e-Crude). According to Sunfire, this innovative process has the potential to satisfy the key need for CO2-neutral transportation fuels in aid of the sustainable society of tomorrow.

The Award was announced at a ceremony in Stockholm and included a prize of €5,000 which was not for the winner to keep, but was to be donated to a charitable organisation that supported the same criteria upon which the Award was based.
