Published:  27 October, 2016

Arco.jpgARCO, a leading UK safety company, reports it recently brought Thermo-Man, a life-size thermal burn injury evaluation system, on its first visit to the UK. In a series of educational seminars for customers, held at the Humberside Fire Service’s Headquarters, Hessle and Linlithgow,

Arco says it demonstrated the risks of workplace exposure to heat and flame and the types and combinations of garments to choose to stay protected. In industrial applications, the main thermal hazards which workers need to be protected from are heat and flame, fire, heat and electric arc. The life-sized mannequin is engulfed by a controlled flash fire and has over 100 sensors to assess how test garments would cope in extreme thermal situations.
