To make it as easy as possible for would-be thermographers to deepen their understanding of the science behind infrared inspection and apply it successfully in their working lives, FLIR Systems’ Infrared Training Centre (ITC) has extended its training options.

As well as its BINDT-accredited Category I, II and III courses and application-specific taster sessions, ITC has introduced a programme of webinars. These online tutorials are running throughout the year, cover a variety of subjects and are designed to prepare delegates for further in-depth study and qualification.

Each webinar starts at 10:00 hrs, occupies 30 minutes and is hosted by Jon Willis, the ITC Training Manager, who also conducts the post-tutorial question and answer session.
DSEI 2019 10 - 13 September, 2019

The Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA) has announced that this year’s CPA Conference will take place on Thursday 17th October 2019 at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Fillongley near Coventry.

The CPA Conference is a one-day event organised by the CPA, the leading trade association for the plant hire sector in the UK. The CPA has over 1,600 members who supply 85% of hired plant to the construction industry. The sector generates over £4 billion and invests £1.3 billion in new equipment each year.

This will be the fifth year that the CPA Conference has been held and it has become an essential entry in the calendar for senior figures in the plant hire industry. The Conference will comprise a full programme of speakers, and delegates will also have the opportunity to visit a number of exhibition stands from participating exhibitors.

Hydrogen


Mark has recently been working on Hy4Heat which is a study to establish if it is technically possible and safe to replace natural gas with hydrogen in residential and commercial buildings and gas appliances. Kiwa Gastec is the Technical Lead, working as part of a team in the BEIS sponsored programme.

BEIS have respectively asked CEA to develop a working group, partnering boilermakers and burner makers, to address the challenges and opportunities of using hydrogen in industrial systems and ensure a practical and workable solution can be found.

We see lots of dangerous incidents that should be reported under RIDDOR which could have led to serious accidents and potential fatalities.

Please remember, Its not the contractor who is responsible it's You.

Guidance document BG04 for boiler water treatment clearly states that 95% of all boiler related incidents and accidents are as a result of bad management of boiler water treatment.


This is not a course for Chemists or water hygiene people, it’s for the people looking after boiler plants. Read more you don't have to be BOAS accredited to attend this course.

If you are BOAS accredited you will know that BOAS only touches on Steam Boiler Water Testing (SBWT) during the course.
