EEF set to help employers mind the gender pay gap
Published:  05 August, 2015

EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, is running a free webinar on 26th August to help companies get their heads around new gender pay reporting requirements.

The move follows a recent Government announcement that it would be pressing ahead with plans requiring firms with over 250 employees to report on their gender pay gap. A large number of manufacturers are likely to be affected by any new legislation and a consultation is currently open to seek views from businesses and their representatives.

The webinar will give an overview of the Government’s proposals, helping businesses to get to grips with what the proposals could mean for them. Participants will also be able to help shape industry’s official response to the proposals.

The webinar will cover  the ‘who, what, where and when’ of the new requirements, as well as outlining the various approaches that could be adopted to minimise the impact on businesses and ensure that employers have as much flexibility as possible.

To register for free, visit EEF’s website. Companies can also complete a short anonymous survey, designed to uncover the real implications of gender pay reporting. Findings from the survey will be shared during the webinar, giving access to brand new insight on this important issue.

Tim Thomas, head of skills and employment policy at EEF, says: “Gender pay reporting is a completely new requirement and could be a problem for companies that are under-prepared. This free webinar is designed to get employers up-to-speed and ready to hit the ground running. Attendees can be satisfied that they are not only taking steps to protect their business, but will also be getting their views heard by Government as a key part of our industry response.”
