LINDE MATERIAL HANDLING, one of Europe’s largest manufacturers of forklift trucks, has launched the Linde C-MATIC; a new automated guided cart (AGC) designed to improve production logistics.

Pushing back the boundaries

SAFETY UNLIMITED, a critical storage specialist, says its new unrivalled and highly versatile Pushback System allows customers to stack pallets containing any permutation of drums or IBCs within the same ultra accessible, time and space saving unit. Drums are four per pallet and IBCs two at a time across a total of 24 pallets two deep, on two levels.

Forklift fleet upgraded

True costs of operating a forklift

A national survey of businesses operating forklift trucks suggests that there are wide inconsistencies in the way total cost of ownership (TCO) is understood and calculated. It suggests that some fleet managers may be wide of the mark when the true life-time cost finally emerges. It points at potential weaknesses in cost modelling which need to be more detailed and precise.

HART DOOR SYSTEMS reports it has supplied GT Emissions Systems, Peterlee, with a Speedor Super that has been fitted behind a roller shutter in its warehouse area. GT Emissions is at the forefront of the design, validation and manufacture of exhaust gas control valves for on and off highway vehicles. Hart Door Systems says its Speedor was installed to retain heat within the warehouse and to prevent cold air and dust entering the building.

The company says the durable SureSense sensors can reliably detect nearly any object in any environment in warehousing and logistics applications – ensuring machines and lines stay up and running at full capacity.

KONECRANES reports it has simplified the overhead crane specification process with the introduction of its innovative on-line tool, Crane Advisor. The company says the menu driven application may be accessed via desktop computer, iPad, tablet and smart phone, allowing convenient use of the tool from any location. Crane Advisor has been introduced successfully in North America and has now been launched in the UK, Europe and selected regions worldwide.

ENERPAC has announced the SL300 hydraulic gantry, the latest innovation in the SL series telescoping hydraulic gantries, offering the highest lifting capacity on a 61cm track gauge in heavy lifting and rigging applications. The SL300 is equipped with two stage lifting cylinders for loads up to 3000 kN.

Instant security solution

SECURITY CAGES DIRECT has announced its new innovation - the new RackCage-SCD, designed to hold full depth pallets, and says it can simply be placed into position inside any type of existing racking. The company says the RackCage is supplied flat-packed in panels for easy on site assembly, and is made up by: front double doors; 2 x side panels; 1 x back panel; top roof panel; set of 10 - Nyloc assembly bolts and set of 3 - 10mm floor anchor bolts. The company says the unique design means that there is no requirement to attach the cage to the existing frame which might affect the integrity of racking and it is simply secured by bolting to the floor through the base frame of the 2 side panels and back panel.

HART DOOR SYSTEMS reports it has completed the installation of two Speedor ‘Storms’ at a recently opened packing and distribution facility. The company says the doors were installed to keep a stable working environment within the 310,000 sq ft fulfilment centre in Dunstable.

Wire rope hoists

STREET CRANE COMPANY has supplied electric wire rope hoists for a major role in the reconstruction of the 107 year old Longfellow Bridge over Charles River at Cambridge, Massachusetts. The hoists are installed on a bespoke crane built by Street’s local partner Capco Crane and Hoist Company. The crane will play a pivotal role in the renovation of the bridge that spans 1.5 miles and carries around 90,000 people per day.
