Additional power over Ethernet Plus

RED LION CONTROLS, a global expert in communication, monitoring and control for industrial automation and networking, has announced three new additions to its N-Tron series of industrial Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) Gigabit products: NT24k-16TX-POE, 1008TX-POE+ and 1000-POE4+. Red Lion says these new POE+ switches and injectors complement its industrial networking portfolio to offer customers additional PoE options that drive operational efficiencies while addressing industry demands.

New steel navigator makes its mark at Elmia

At this year’s Elmia Subcontractor exhibition in Sweden, OVAKO demonstrated its new Steel Navigator - an exciting digital platform that allows customers to search and find the most suitable steel for their application. After logging on, customers can search for specific steel grades, by combining searches on steel group, quality, process type, product and chemical composition.

Coolant mist filter

A major aerospace subcontract manufacturer reports it has recently purchased its 6th OMF1000 coolant mist filter from AIRBENCH for use in its dedicated Airbus production facility and says this forms part of a rolling programme of OMF installations; a series of previous OMF units were supplied by ACS and AirBench has continued the programme.

Annual steam protection service

WATKINS HIRE says that the Watkins Annual Steam Protection Service (WASPS) has been introduced to assist all clients with steam boiler plant located across multiple sites who find themselves subject to shutdowns when annual inspections are required. In many cases a temporary rental boiler is required to cover these shutdowns to avoid downtime in production.

Chemical cleaning pumps

KAMCO has announced two purpose built descaling pumps, the Scalebreaker C90 and C210, designed for descaling commercial and industrial boilers, chillers and plate heat exchangers. Used with the appropriate chemical, the pumps can make it simple for plant and works engineers and contractors to clean equipment with in-house staff at a time most convenient for production schedules.

MCERTS certificate

QUANTITECH has announced that the Gasmet Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS II e) and the portable (DX4000) FTIR analysers have been awarded an MCERTS certificate demonstrating compliance with the MCERTS Performance Standards defined in EN 14181. The certificate demonstrates enhanced performance across an extended range of gases.

Record export order

BUNTING MAGNETICS EUROPE, a leading supplier of magnetic separators and metal detectors, reports it has secured its largest single export order from a German processing plant designer and builder - the record order is to manufacture and supply 63, high-strength, Rare Earth Plate Magnets, which will be installed in a tobacco manufacturing operation in Indonesia.

HERAEUS NOBLELIGHT says recent extensive tests in its Applications Centre have demonstrated that the tempering of glass, heat-formed packaging products used in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors is five times faster and significantly more energy efficient with the new MAX oven than tempering carried out using conventional electric heating techniques.

MICHELL INSTRUMENTS says its new HygroSmart HS3 probe has been designed to withstand the kind of harsh and demanding conditions found in industrial processes. The company says unlike many ‘disposable’ probes that have a short life within harsh conditions before needing to be replaced, the HygroSmart HS3 sensor uses Michell’s polymer tile to give long-term reliable measurements

Traceable humidity calibrations

MICHELL INSTRUMENTS says the HygroCal100 is a lightweight, portable humidity verifier, which uses its reliable internal polymer reference to provide automatic verifications of the accuracy of RH probes. Multi-function metering controller
