Charity parachute jump raises thousands

Published:  10 August, 2009

The skies of Oxfordshire were filled with dedicated fundraisers on Sunday 28 June 2009, as a team of 21 employees from Brammer UK took part in a parachute jump to raise thousands of pounds for Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.  Make-A-Wish is the leading wishgranting charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.
Brammer UK, a division of Europe's leading distributor of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, drafted 21 brave volunteers from across its network of 92 UK branches and, with additional support from suppliers and customers, raised well over £3000 at the London Parachute School in Lewknor Oxfordshire.  Brammer UK has been raising funds for Make-A-Wish since 2007 and is on course to reach a fundraising target of £100,000.
Ian Ritchie, managing director of Brammer UK, says: "It takes a lot of courage to jump out of a plane, but the bravery shown every day by young people fighting serious illnesses puts our efforts into perspective.
That is why we are delighted to support Make-A-Wish. The tremendous efforts of our team and the generosity of our employees, suppliers and customers has helped to raise a fantastic amount that will bring smiles and encouragement to many children."
In 2009 Make-A-Wish hopes to grant around 860 magical wishes. To make a donation or find out more about Make-A-Wish contact 01276 405 060 or visit  www.make-a-wish.org.uk
